ACT 1 ft (ian salgado, kevin cabanayan, adrian maghirang & nehemiah)
consists of tim's closest friends and biggest influences downtalking upon him.. and degrading him to nothing.. it acts as a starting point..yet is almost a finishing point..because people have already made up their mind, their opinion of what tim has to bring, or their opinion of tim's talent... without giving him a opportunity to showcase what he has.
i. jesus piece produced by scrilla beats
this is the reply to ACT 1.. which is why the opening bars start with "they got me feeling like this wasnt supposed to happen" ... the backdrop set by scrilla beats displays its triumph in terms of tim finally saying , you know what.. fuck you and have a good day.. this is for anybody who's felt like they have been downlooked upon and have no choice but to keep their head up.. sumtimes u gotta choke sum rappers with their own jesus piece lol
" its common to find forever if over the hill lies zion " word.
ii.2 for the show produced by future/mesta/bruddaman this follows the triumphant, which follows the "football" theme... hence "back them suckers off, do the heisman".. but in the middle of the track.. the beat switches up to a joint i originally was going to do but decided to give to tim after he dropped a sick verse on it, this shows his versatility in a sense where he's going from a triumphant track , trying to display his witty technique into a verse in which he talks about his ambition. we all know what a bucket list is (right?? lol) ..so basically thats what it is.. the verse also ends with a heartfelt line that most of us will be able to relate to.
iii.if you knew ft kennard medina produced by bruddaman..
and to end act 1, we have one of the very first joints tim recorded a year or 2 ago which is called if you knew, im featured on the first verse and on the beat (yuckk ;'[ @ my verse lol) but this was one of the first lyrical (lyrical) displays from tim. some of the things he's saying might fly right over people's heads but then again, it ties to the concept that people look down so much upon him that they just won't catch what he's saying anyways. this was special too because this was one of his first "one take" verses that he's ever done lol..
ACT 2
.. i told tim to tie in the tracks with his "act" which stands as statements, soliloquoys (sp?) if you will, i actually told tim, just press the record button and talk. so this is coming straight from the heart.
iv. my little hater ft cool beans & clientele produced by bruddaman/jay smooth
this track, man i remember hearing jay smooth do this almost a year ago i believe and i absolutely loved it, so i wanted to loop and dissect it to make a song almost. i should credit as "produced by jay smooth, looped by bruddaman" lol but still .. this track is supposed to display that sometimes, u just gotta laugh with the world when they're laughing at you.. it shows that tim is able to pinpoint his flaws, and still be able to have a good laugh, knowing that he's more than capable of working to resolve his flaws. one lesson i've told tim is to basically stop taking yourself so seriously. for those who know tim, he's a perfectionist, so for him to do this track is almost a dope concept in itself. he describes a character who has narcissistic, perverted and twisted ways, along with distorted facial and physical features.. and is really describing himself, but is able to pull it off so that people can laugh at it.. and so can he. The comedy value of this track only adds on with kevin "cool beans" cabanayan and kevin "clientele/my brother" medina.. they just "act a fool" on the track and are just so retarded but lovable. Jay smooth also hits with a chorus that is just so dope and ties it in all perfectly. we all have a little hater in all of us people, but dont let them be the one that drives you to insanity, but shows you that the flaws that we all possess, we can work at gradually and improve as people and at the same time, dont let it cripple you because YOU are your own worst enemy.
v. entourage ft e dot fresco & jay esperance produced by 6th sense
ian salgado is like one of tim's biggest influencesa nd this track, which flips the "entourage" theme song produced by 6th sense (one of my favorite up and coming producers) dropped this on his beat tape a couple months back and i thought this would be dope to fit jamie, tim and en's style. going from little hater, this track serves to point out the BEST/FRESHEST features in one self.. who went in the hardest? ( a real man shouldnt have to say no homo (c) jada ) .. well you decide :P
vi. rock steady ft kennard medina produced by bruddaman
rock steady was also one of the very first collaborations with me and tim. i also put this to end act 2 because this whole act was based on just being able to have a good laugh, have fun. Rock Steady, basically go at your own pace but have fun while doing so.
"the party will never be dead like hip hop when we rock steady" ... go at your own pace and dont fall victim to the fast speedy life that others may live.
but dont forget to check out the ILL ILL ( did i say ill? ) remix that one of my favorite up and coming producers (he is ...dope...) john m thirteen did.
ACT 3
ii would like to thank rachael nam for participating in this act. she plays the character of a girl who tim has met at the "rock steady" party and basically them conversing in a flirtacious way almost. for those romantics out there, we find love in places where we wouldnt expect to find it, dont we?... this also ties into the next triplet of songs because..well you'll see
vii. i like korean girls (bruhmix)
this is the song that tim chose to do his very first PERFORMANCE (disregard the sumn sumn tropical incident rofl!) and it was dope, only to be tainted by distorted vocals cos of sound problems but its all good tho, no blames no blames. this is an ode to the type of girl tim craves for (lol) ..so if you're korean, and a girl.. well tim likes you. it flips the k-pop smash hit - generation girls - gee song... and dont get me wrong, at first i rejected this idea and did NOT want to flip it for the love of me lol. eventually i flipped it and the song came out pretty good actually. if you're a dude, this'll be your guilty pleasure waka waka!!. but aye .. we dont discriminate we regulate any shade of that ass (c) big pun (rip) ^___^ v
viii. bitches aint shit ft. nehemiah produced by team green
the title pretty much sums it up. the content of the song is obviously aimed at those type of women that usually dont stand for anything except lust & sex. subliminally, it is also an ode to the real women out there, as evidenced by the closing lines " it takes a man to know a woman's worth and when a woman's worthless " ..nehemiah killed it with the hook and this is meant to be comedic yet with serious undertones. i decided to put this before the following track because it follows the setup of the 2 previous acts in where the act ends with the least recent track made .
ix. fall in love 2 ft. nehemiah produced by john m thirteen
this is an important song because this was tim's first real heartfelt song. it took alot out of him just to record this. this represents a time in his life where love took the drivers seat and possibly just drove him crazy. john m 13 once again murders the beat and its just soo smooth. this track is actually a remix from my original fall in love track that i produced and had nehemiah also sing on it also. Pardon tim's lil speech dedicated to the girl he had loved during the time. epitome of corn-on-teh cob
ACT 4
once again i told tim to just press record and talk about the incidents of falling in love and being at peace with yourself, the world, and everything else while facing nothing but anger and confusion.
x. mad at the world produced by bruddaman
mad at the world represents tim's inner self trying to escape through words. he bears his soul on this and talks about life experiences and all the messed up things he has had to endure in his lifetime so far. if you listen closely, the drumline to this might strike a chord to some because it is also found on another important song that tim recorded.
xi. come wander with me produced by ace 1-2/bruddaman
this .. i suggest.. if you have a weak stomach, do NOT listen to this just because it is really graphic and just plain out there. this is one of those tracks that i just did not want to hear on a first listen and me and tim actually went back and forth on the concept and why would he want to record a song like this. he speaks about a girl named MARGE who was raped by the males in her life, (especially father & brother) nd how she is basically a lifeless spirit stuck being alive. he also exposes a very horrid and perverted ending to the story. the funny thing is, there is almost a genius to it, metaphorically. me and tim were talking one day about me, him and en having contrasting styles almost. I then started to mention this track and its comparison to him as a person. if you recall, tim talks about going back to the very things that hurt him in the beginning of act 4. marge performs the very same act at the end of the song. this mixtape starts with the ending and ends with the beginning. i started to realize that tim just might have tried to display his view of his inner self through the very portrait of marge. and i even told him " tim i think you have been raped, of your smile, of your innocence, of your happiness " and that marge digging up his father's grave is the same thing as tim trying to dig and look for his inner being, his identity? his freedom? true love? sense of purpose? we all attempt to find the very answers to these questions and i felt thats what tim tried portraying in the image of marge. this is also very reminiscent of my vanilla sky track, in terms of metaphor and point of view. i applaud tim for stepping out on the limb to make this kind of track because it truly is just.. out there.
END - (ian salgado, kevin cabanayan, adrian maghirang & nehemiah)
the end is composed of the very same people who judged him in the beginning, coming around and changing their stance/position on tim and this time talking in a positive manner about him.
xii. you're my inspiration ft nehemiah produced by bruddaman
the project ends ...with the beginning.
this track is where it all started..
a song for a girl he liked. and thats where this whole journey began.
it is also almost like showing how thats everything almost starts.
a love for hip hop, a love for art, music, women.
the project started with the end and ended with the beginning, within it is a story that craves to be told, feelings that crave to be expressed, thoughts craving to be understood
and an emcee who just wants you to come wander with him.
pardon the fuzziness/feedback of some of the tracks such as you're my inspiration, our mic game isnt the greatest (rock band what?) but in the future i promise to upgrade the sound quality on the mixes since im still tryna better them and learn to accurately use EQ to my advantage ;'[
we hope you enjoy this project, feel free to comment, respond and anticipate tim's next mixtape coming soon.
